Urgent Complaint Against Train No. 01051 – Excessive Delay, Lack of Drinking Water and Safety Concerns for a Woman Travelling Alone
Complaint Description
Dear Indian Railways, I am extremely disappointed with the service provided on Train No. 01051 from LTT to Varanasi. I booked my ticket through the IRCTC application, expecting to reach Varanasi at the scheduled arrival time of 3:40 PM. I specifically planned my journey around this timing because my village is approximately 60 km from Varanasi railway station. However, the train is running more than 10 hours late. At the time of my complaint, it was still at Manikpur. The train is repeatedly stopping at stations for 30–40 minutes, and passengers are struggling to obtain even basic drinking water. I am a woman travelling alone. I planned to reach Varanasi during daylight so that I could safely continue my journey to my village. Due to this unreasonable delay, I may now have to travel another 60 km late at night, creating a serious safety concern. I cannot simply abandon my journey because I have already boarded the train and have no reasonable alternative at this stage. I request Indian Railways to: 1. Provide an explanation for the excessive delay and prolonged halts. 2. Arrange drinking water and ensure basic passenger facilities. 3. Provide appropriate assistance and safety guidance for women travelling alone who will reach their destinations late at night. 4. Review my case for a full refund and any other relief admissible under the applicable railway rules, considering the exceptional inconvenience and safety concerns. 5. Register this complaint formally and provide a complaint reference number. Passengers should not have to endure such extreme inconvenience without proper facilities or assistance. I expect Indian Railways to take this matter seriously and provide a timely response.
