Complaint Regarding RAC Seat Allotment - g Passenger Allotted Seat with Male Passenger for Long Journey.
Complaint Description
After booking the ticket, we were allotted RAC. During the booking, it was clearly mentioned that one passenger is female. Despite that, the seat has been shared with a male passenger. This is not a short journey. We have to travel for more than 26 hours, and it is not easy for a female to travel alone under such conditions. We travel by Indian Railways because we trust it for safety and comfort, but this kind of allotment is not correct. We have paid the full fare for an AC coach to have a smooth and comfortable journey. Otherwise, we could have booked a general ticket. Sharing a seat does not mean we paid half the fare - we paid the full amount. Travelling in RAC for such a long duration is already uncomfortable and tiring. Expecting a female passenger to share a berth with an unknown male passenger for 26+ hours compromises privacy, safety and comfort. It is requested to kindly look into this matter. It would be more appropriate to either provide a confirmed berth, allot seats with a female co-passenger, or refund at least half the fare as we are not getting the full berth we paid for. Kindly consider this as a serious concern for female passengers safety and take necessary action.
